Potters Come Up Short vs HealdsburgThe Potters lost their single game matchup with the rival Prune Packers on Tuesday. After scoring 2 runs in the first inning on an error and Nathan Martorella single, both teams didn't see any offense till the 6th inning. The combination of Jack Horn and Gabe Emmit went 5 scoreless innings. The Packers would tie the game in the top of the 6th inning with a few timely hits. Then in the 7th inning, the Packers would take the lead after some crucial defensive mistakes from the Potters defense. Healdsburg would score 3 in the inning, all unearned against the Potters pitching. The Potters would get 2 runs back in the 8th inning on a KeShawn Ogans single to make it 6-4. Healdsburg would make a pitching change and then hold the line for the rest of the game. A tough loss from the Potters as a lack of timely hitting and key defensive mistakes gave Healdsburg the victory. The Potters fall to 12-4 on the year and end up splitting the season series with the Prune Packers. Daniel Susac continues to hit this summer. Susac had 4 hits on Tuesday night to push his summer OPS over 1.500. For reference, the highest OPS in a single season in MLB history is Barry Bonds with a 1.422. Daniel Susac during these 16 games, is putting up Barry Bonds like numbers. Keshawn Ogans picked up 2 more hits and 2 RBI on the night. Ogans is hitting close to .400 this summer and has been a steady hand in the Potters offense. Jack Horn navigated his way through 4.1 innings of scoreless baseball to start the game on 5 hits, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout. Relying heavily on mixing his pitches to get weak contact and keeping the hitters off balanced.
