The Potters’ offense exploded in the previous two games accumulating 28 runs on 39 hits but the Potters couldn't make a strong finish in game two against the Marysville Gold Sox and lost 14-12 in ten innings of play. In game three the Potters managed to come back and beat the Gold Sox 16-8 with the help of three home runs courtesy of Jake Boyd, Zach Hall and Braden DeBenedictis.

The Potters had a strong lead in game two but the Gold Sox were able to rally back forcing the Potters to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth inning to cause extra innings. And in the tenth innings the Potters were unable to tie it back up after the Gold Sox scored two to make it 14-12.

For the Potters, Zach Hoffman went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored, DeBenedictis went 1-for-2 with two RBIs, Charles Middleton went 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored, Hall went 1-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored, Isaiah Garcia went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, Austen Swift went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored and Mason Allen went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored.

Nolan Boginni got the start on the mound pitching six innings while allowing five runs, four earned, on three hits, walking four and striking out three. Travis Parker got his first loss of the season pitching one inning while allowing three runs on three hits.

But in game three the Potters’ offense rallied back with a total of 16 runs on 23 hits. Hall had an all-star night going 5-for-6 with four RBIs and four runs scored followed by Boyd who went 3-for-6 with three RBIs and three runs scored and DeBenedictis went 3-for-6 with three RBIs and a run scored. Boyd hit his first home run of the season and both Hall and DeBenedictis hit their fourth of the season.

Also contributing to the 16 runs scored was I. Garcia who went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored, Swift who went 2-for-6 with two RBIs and a run scored, Allen who went 3-for-5 with an RBI and Middleton who went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

On the mound for the Potters was Johnathan Lavallee who pitched five innings of play only allowing one run on six hits, walking four and striking out five. Lavallee got his fifth win, making him 5-0 on the season.

The Potters take on the Portland Pickles for a three-game series starting tonight in Portland. Then they move on to play the Marysville Gold Sox in a two-game series in Marysville before the All Star break. The Potters return to McBean Stadium Tuesday, July 25th for another series against the Pickles.

The Potters are 28-14 on the season and remain in second place in the Great West League. They are 1.5 games back from the first place team, the Medford Rogues.
