League Opening Victory

A big fifth inning for the Potters lead them to a 9-6 victory over the Healdsburg Prune Packers. The Prune Packers are entering this season as a the powerhouse team of the North division, as the last three years have been very successful for them. Heading into the bottom of the fifth inning, your Potters trailed 5-2. That is until Anders Green came up to the plate. Green had a two run single which gave the Potters the lead and started the big seven run inning! Prune Packer pitcher Tyler Thornton started the first two innings as a dominant pitcher with four strikeouts in the first five Potter batters, ending his day with 3.0 innings pitched. Tyler Mead continues to carve batters one by one as he came in during tonights game. Mead gets out of the inning with the bases loaded and allows zero Packers to cross the plate. Kieth Walker receives the win along with Grant Woodside getting his first save as a Potter. Anders Green and Andrew Buglino both end their night 1-3 at the plate with two RBIs a piece. Green had his two RBIs in the fifth inning which eventually lead to the Potters catching fire. Luke Hargis gets his first start of the year, lasting 4.0 innings, on three K’s and 16 batters faced. Keith Walker goes 1.0 innings and the win. Grant Woodside receives the save with his 1.0 inning of work. The Potters will host game two against the Prune Packers tomorrow night for Ladies night! Also, $2 Tuesdays have been extended to $2 Wednesdays! Come back out tomorrow night for Ladies Night and $2 Wednesdays, right here at McBean Stadium! First pitch is slotted for 6:35 pm.
