Potters Win 6th Game in a Row

Fonseca goes 2-4 with an RBI.

The Potters won on Friday Night by a score of 9-4. The Potters scored 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning after a Matt Lopez fielders choice, a Johnny Pacheco single and a Larry Fonseca single. Each team would score a run in the 4th inning as well. The Seals would score one in the top of the 6th inning but nothing more. The Potters responded with another 3 runs on a JC Santini single and Zach Patterson 2 RBI single putting the score at 7-2 after 6 innings. After scoreless inning out of the bullpen from Dylan Speiza the Potters called upon Justin Smith in the 8th inning. Smith allowed 2 runs to come into to score making it a 7-4 game so with 2 on and 2 out the Potters turned to Parker Ruoff. Ruoff walked the only batter he faced and that loaded the bases up and brought Tyler Cochran into the game to face the number 9 hitter, Manuel Ochoa. After falling behind 2-0 in the count, Cochran fired a strike that allowed Alonzo Rubalcaba to throw out a runner 2nd base who was getting too big of a lead to end the inning. A huge momentum swing in the game that kept the Potters on top. When asked about the stellar play from the catching position the Potters have received this season Manager Ryan Stevens said "It's been huge for us to get that great play from them. They've all been solid behind the plate, they're all getting better there as well while they work on things. Offensively we've gotten big contributions from them all season, it's been really important for us al season"

In the bottom of the 8th inning, JC Santini continued his stellar play at the plate with 2 run double to put the Potters up 9-4 but Tyler Cochran wouldn't need any additional help as he struck out the side in the 9th inning to secure the Potters win. The Potters improved to 31-20 while the Seals fall to 19-29.

Josh Savea got the start and the win in the game for the Potters. Savea fired 6 innings of 2 run baseall while allowing 4 hits and 3 walks and striking 6 Seals hitters over those innings. Drew Stahl started the game for the Seals and went 6 innings allowing 11 hits 7 runs 5 walks and struck out 3 hitters.

The Potters bullpen had it's 18 and 2/3 innings scoreless streak come to a close on Friday but Ryan Stevens still had high praise for his bullpen. "It's been really good as of late. I call somebody's number and they deliver. They're getting rest and they're feeling good. Going forward we will really need them to stay hot and pitch well if we want to do well in playoffs as pitching wins championships." When asked about the performance of his closer Stevens added, "It's huge. I know in that situation that I don'thave to hesitate going to our closer. If it's a save situation I have full confidence that I can give him the ball and he will throw strikes. He's been huge for us."

The Potters will look to secure a series win tonight against the Seals. Gates open at 5:30 with first pitch being at 6:35. You can buy tickets here: Tickets
