STEVENS KEEPS IT LOCAL, FINALIZES COACHING STAFF

Lincoln, Calif. - The 2018 Lincoln Potters coaching staff has been finalized with the addition of three experienced Sacramento-area coaches and a returning staff member.

Manager Ryan Stevens has added assistant coaches Noah Brewster, Jon Peters, and Kody Keroher and has retained volunteer assistant Mick Lancaster to round out his first staff as Potters’ skipper.

“I am very excited to announce such a polished staff. We all have a winning attitude and are all super competitive people. Developing young men into better men and baseball players is a gift we all have and I am excited to see it in fruition. We can't wait get to work for the town of Lincoln and bring the fans winning baseball this summer. Potter Up” said Stevens about his new staff.

Hitting coach Noah Brewster is a Southern California native that played high school ball at El Toro and Laguna Beach High Schools. Brewster received consecutive League MVP honors and a number of Division 1 scholarship offers, but his playing career was cut short due to injury. He is currently the owner and lead instructor of ProForm Baseball Training in Roseville, CA where he specializes in high-level player development for players of all ages. Brewster has had the opportunity to work with numerous collegiate and professional players. In addition to serving as the hitting coach, Noah will coach first base and work with catchers.

“Noah brings a unique dynamic to the staff for the fact that he works with both kids and professional athletes. His baseball IQ is second-to-none and he has always been a student of the game, while finding ways to make players reach their peak potential. Noah brings a hard-work mentality to the staff that the players will highly benefit from and he brings passion and accountability that will help us as a team succeed” said Stevens.

Jon Peters will coach third base and act as an assistant coach with emphasis on infielders and hitting. He is in his third year with Folsom Lake College in the same capacity. Peters grew up in Chino, CA where he was a standout baseball player at Chino High School, earning All-League, All-County, and All-CIF honors. He continued his playing career at Mt. San Antonio Community College for two years and earned a scholarship to NCAA Division II powerhouse Chico State. He helped lead the Wildcats to an appearance in the NCAA DII World Series in 2012.

“Jon brings high-level coaching experience to this ball club that will elevate the play of our players this Summer. Coach Peters runs a high powered offense at Folsom Lake Community College that leads the state in home runs at the moment. I am extremely confident in his ability to run our offense as the third base coach this summer. Jonathan is going to bring an outgoing presence to the ballpark every night that is infectious to the players and fans” added Stevens.

Kody Keroher will serve as the pitching coach for the Potters this season. Keroher played at and graduated from the University of Nevada Reno after a two-year stint at Solano Community College. In 2004, he was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the 46th Round of the Major League Baseball Draft. After his playing career, Keroher worked as the Pitching Coach for Solano from 2008 to 2012 where he led the Falcons to five league championships and two Super Regional appearances. He is currently the Director of Operations and Facilities at Sacramento State University and he and his famIly reside in Rocklin, CA.

“Kody is just as anxious as me to get this summer rolling. Kody played at a very high level and learned from some great coaches. As a player Kody was successful on the mound, however as a coach we would both agree he was even more dynamic. I am very excited to see Kody polish our pitching staff this year. Kody brings a winning attitude to our team that the Staff will feed off of. He is very hungry to start coaching again” exclaimed Stevens.

Mick Lancaster returns as an assistant coach. Mick has a long history of teaching the game of baseball at both college and professional levels, and also served as an Associate Scout for the Miami Marlins for 10 years.

“Mick has been around baseball for many years and brings a positive attitude to the ballpark every night. Mick has many unique attributes which makes him very versatile. We are looking for Mick to assist all the coaches this summer and he will work with Noah to put together a workout plan for our players as well” said Stevens.
